Terms

The terms Debugt is offered on.

Last changed 12 October 2026.

A draft. The seller is not named yet (PUBLIC_LEGAL_NAME), and this has not been read by a lawyer.

These are the terms between you and Debugt (“we”) for the Debugt extension and this website. By installing Debugt or buying a license you agree to them. They are meant to be short enough to read.

What you may do

  • Use Debugt, on the Free plan, on any machine, for any work including commercial work, at no charge.
  • With a Pro license, use what Pro adds on up to 3 machines at once. A license is for one developer: it is yours and not to be shared, resold or published.

What you may not do

  • Share a license key, or use one that was issued to someone else.
  • Remove or work around the limits of the plan you are on.
  • Resell or redistribute Debugt, or offer it to others as a service.
  • Use it to get at systems or data you have no right to.

Paying for Pro

Pro is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly in advance, and renewed automatically until you cancel. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: it takes the payment, adds the tax that applies where you are, issues the invoice, and handles returns. Paddle's own buyer terms apply to the purchase.

Prices are the ones shown at checkout. A change of price applies from your next renewal, and you will be told of it beforehand.

Cancelling, and what happens then

You can cancel at any time, from the link in Paddle's receipt or by writing to us. Pro continues to the end of the period you have paid for and is not renewed. After that — or if a renewal cannot be collected — Debugt goes back to the Free plan. It does not stop working, stop your services, or withhold anything stored on your machine.

Refunds

If Pro is not what you needed, ask within 14 days of a payment and it will be refunded in full. A refund ends the license it paid for.

Your data

Your code, requests, responses and traces stay on your machine and are not sent to us; what the license check sends is listed on the privacy page. You are responsible for what you choose to record and where you keep it.

No warranty

Debugt is a development tool. It starts your services under a debugger and changes how they behave while it does — where their calls go, what a function returns. It is made for development machines and is not to be run against production. It is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data, revenue or profit, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for Debugt in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or rights you have as a consumer.

Changes

We may change Debugt, its plans and these terms. A change to these terms that matters is announced on this page before it applies, and to license holders by email; if you do not accept it, you may cancel and be refunded for the time not yet used.
